What is Mould?

Mould is nature’s decomposer. It’s fungi or mushrooms that grow and decompose vegetation and building materials.

Mould Inspection

Mould inspection means identifying sources of moisture, humidity or condensation with a lot of measurements of building material moisture, temperature, relative humidity, absolute/specific humidity, dew point etc.  We may also use infrared cameras and borescopes to determine other potential problems.

Mould Testing

This is specific air or surface sampling which is sent to a laboratory for analysis by specialist mycologists. They count the different type of mould spores and mould hyphae/filaments.

Laboratory Analysis

The laboratory results of the mould spores and mould inspection measurements helps determine where the problem is and how bad it is. A building biologist interprets the results for you based on industry guidelines.

Mould Removal

Mould removal requires IICRC professionals to clean to an industry standard. No fogging should happen. It needs to physically be removed. Mould spores and mould filaments/hyphae needs to be physically removed.
